Harriett Lionberger

Harriett Joan Lionberger, 89, Independence, MO passed away Monday, December 8, 2014. Joan was born June 22, 1925 in Henry County, MO the daughter of Harry William and Helen Maude (Lambert) Lionberger. She moved to Independence in 1936. She attended Bristol School for two years and graduated from William Chrisman in 1942. Joan worked for Rothschild’s Clothing, Commerce Bank in Kansas City, MO, H.O. Peet and Traders-Merchants Bank. She moved back to Independence in 2011. She was a life member of the Union Cemetery Association, charter member of the Civil War Roundtable of Western, MO, Friends of Chicago & Alton Railroad, and the Henry County Historical Society. Survivors include her sister, Charlotte Tindall; niece, Linda Hoge; nephews, John and Jack Tindall; and additional nieces nephews and family. She was preceded in death by her parents. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Good Hope Cemetery, southeast of Clinton.
