Edith (Fusselman) Livingston died June 2, 2007 at Rosewood Health Center in Independence, MO.
She was born in Nauvoo, IL, on Sept. 13, 1927 to Clyde and Effie (Fisher) Fusselman. She graduated form Nauvoo High School with Honors. She attended college in Quincy, IL and Lamoni, IA. After graduating, she worked for Schaffer Pen Company. Edith then moved to Cleveland, OH, and married Casimir Nikel. They had one daughter, Judith.
After Casimir died, she married Glenn Livingston in 1988 in Clovis, NM. She was an Elder in the Community of Christ, and after her retirement from civilian employment at Cannon Air Force Base in Clovis, she was a volunteer for the Southwest Region of her church. She had the pleasure of ministering in four states. She was a Past President of the Sunrise Optimist Club of Clovis, a member of the Eastern Star and Yucca Temple 74 Daughters of the Nile. She was active in youth work and an avid reader.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Paul Fusselman, first husband Casimir Nikel, and brothers-in-law Floyd Vallier and Mark Crown. She is missed by husband Glenn Livingston, of the home; sisters Dorothy Vallier and Mildred Crown, both of Independence, MO; daughter Judith Nelson and husband Bruce of California; granddaughters Brooke Nelson and husband David Studer, Independence, MO; Laia Solen and husband Cort, Bellingham, WA; two great-grandchildren; five step-grandchidlren, and many nieces and nephews.
In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated. The family suggests memorials in her name to Outreach International or the Groves Community Hospice.
