James Lockard

James Corwin Lockard, 34, of Independence, MO passed away November 17, 2013 in St. Joseph, MO. A Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 21st at Eastside Baptist Church, Independence, MO. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, November 22nd at the Community of Christ Auditorium, Independence, MO.
James was born December 18, 1978 in Independence, MO to Robert James and Mary (Walbridge) Lockard as one of two children. He attended Lee’s Summit North High School. James enlisted in the United States Air Force where he proudly served his country from June of 1998 to May of 2004. He worked as a Postman for the USPS for three years until he became an Officer for the Independence Police Department in 2008. James is loved and will be missed.
He is survived by wife, Sarah (Myers) Lockard; son, Blaine Michael Lockard; stepson, Gavin Ira Williams; mother, Mary Walbridge; father, Robert James Lockard and wife Marsha Lee; sister, Erin Rae Lockard; half-sister, Lara Marie Hampton; stepbrother, Paul Norman Ladas; stepsister, Michelle Marie Ladas; and numerous friends and fellow officers who will miss him dearly.
