Lois Nancy Brown, born on September 19, 1931, in Batson, AR, to Lawson and Nora Smith, passed away peacefully at her residence in Kansas City, MO on Friday, February 16, 2024.
Throughout her life, Lois found joy in various hobbies such as crocheting and quilting, gardening, and most importantly spending quality time with her beloved family. Her kind and compassionate nature touched the lives of many.
She was a loving wife to June Brown until his passing in 2008. Lois was also preceded in death by her daughter, Cathy Carmichael in 2015, her daughter-in-law Margie Brown, and her 9 brothers and 2 sisters.
She is lovingly remembered by her four sons: Johnie, Donald (Lori), Melvin (Rhonda), Kevin (Tina); along with 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren whose lives were enriched by her presence.
Services to honor and celebrate the life of Lois will be held at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence. A visitation will take place on February 23 starting at 9:00 AM followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Mt. Washington Cemetery in Independence.
Lois will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace.
