Evelyn Mae Long, 81, Independence, Mo. died Nov. 10, 2004 at Rosewood Health Center. A memorial service will be held at 10 am, Sat., Nov. 13 at South Chrysler Restoration Branch, 16101 E. Salisbury Road, Independence, Mo. Cremation. The family suggests contributions to Outreach Restoration Branch, 723 S Chrysler Ave., Indep., Mo. 64052. Evelyn was born Oct. 24, 1923 in Knob Noster, Mo. and over the years had lived in Topeka, Ks., Phoenix, Az., Durango, Co., Denver, Co., and Independence. She worked at Herald Publishing House and retired in 1971. She was active in her church and taught Sunday School for many years. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph T. Long in 1984. She is survived by brother Robert Paul Burgess and wife Marna; nieces Paula Burgess; Tammy Lindle and husband Jeff; nephews James Burgess; Steven Burgess, his wife Jacquie and their daughters Sabria and Julia; all of Indep., Mo.; and a multitude of adopted family and friends.
