Mary (Giamalva) LoPorto, 82, of Independence, MO passed away Friday, April 8, 2005. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am Tuesday, April 12th at St. Mark�s Catholic Church in Independence, MO; with interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The Rosary will be said 6 pm Monday with visitation following until 8:30 pm at the Church. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Mary was born January 18, 1923 in Kansas City, MO to Frank and Virginia (Ferro) Giamalva. She was a longtime member of St. Mark�s Church, and active in the preparations for the St. Joseph�s Table. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sisters-in-law, Sam "Red� and Helen Giamalva, Tom and Katie Giamalva, Steve and Ange Giamalva; brothers, Frank Giamalva, Jr and John Giamalva; sister, Maggie Bono; sister and brother-in-law, Josephine and Phil Corsentino; sister, Clara Paul; and brother-in-law, Sam "Butch� Buccero. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Salvatore "Tudie� LoPorto; daughters and sons-in-law, Jean and Don Cappo, Ginger and Dan Brown; son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Cindy LoPorto; grandchildren, Roseanne and Eric Mertes, Maria and Joe Blatt, Danny Brown, Matt Brown, Salvatore LoPorto, Michael LoPorto, Christopher LoPorto; great grandchildren, Rachael and Nic Mertes, Ashlyn and Joe Blatt, Jr.; sister, Nellie Buccero; brother, Louis Giamalva; in-laws, Pat Giamalva, Ann Giamalva, Josie LoPorto, and Don Paul; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mary was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
