Betty Lorance

Betty Jean Lorance, 75, of Blue Springs, MO, passed away July 30, 2014. Visitation will be Monday, August 4, 2014 from 9-10 am at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Funeral Services will follow visitation, beginning at 10:00 am. Burial will take place in Mt. Washington Cemetery. Betty was born on April 14, 1939 to William and Kate (Allen) Rodgers in Belzoni, MS. She was married to John Lorance in 1959, while he was in the service. After his term was over they moved to the Independence area. Betty was a loving mother, wife, and grandmother.. She enjoyed cooking and baking, and taking care of her family and friends. Betty is preceded in death by her son, John Lorance, Jr. in May 2014, and her brother William Rodgers. Survivors include: her husband of 55 years, John Lorance, daughter, Tammy Akers and husband Jeff, grandchildren, Jared Lorance, Trevor Lorance, Erica Lorance, and Cody Akers.
