Loren Harold Campbell, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed on September 6, 2024, in Kansas City, Missouri, surrounded by family, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness. He was born on May 6, 1943, in Corning, Iowa, and his journey through life was marked by unwavering love for his family, his Savior and a passion for the simple joys that life offered. 

A proud veteran of the Navy, Loren exemplified dedication and service, both in his military career and as a committed family man. He cherished the role of being a grandfather, radiating joy and affection to his grandchildren with every opportunity he had. Loren was known for his loving spirit, always making time to share stories, laughter, and unforgettable moments with those who were lucky enough to be close to him. 

Loren had diverse interests that added richness to his life. He enjoyed serving his church as deacon and janitor. He coached the girls’ basketball team and played on the men’s basketball team when a member at Sterling Acres Baptist Church. He was Sunday school director for several years while a member at The Church at Three Trails. He was an avid reader and loved reading the Bible and found solace and adventure between the pages of his favorite books. He loved watching movies, especially any with John Wayne. He enjoyed college sports, and he was a die-hard fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Royals, joyously supporting his teams through every thrilling game. He was a leader in Boy Scout Troop 269, and an Honorary Warrior in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. 

As a young person Loren mowed lawns and set up pins at the local bowling alley for extra cash. After leaving the Navy, Loren was employed by Kenworth for 21 years, followed by Praxair for 17 years. Once retired, he began his own lawn mowing business which brought his work life full circle.

His family remembers him not just through memories but through an enduring bond that continues to inspire them every day. Loren's life was filled with love for his wife, Dorothy Campbell, of 61 years; children, Annette (Jim) Murray, David (Samantha) Campbell; grandchildren, Amy (Shaun) Carter, Jordan Murray, Cole Murray, Cody (Erica) Russell, Tyler (Sarah) Bronson, Amanda (John) Miller, Zachary Campbell, Logan Campbell; great grandchildren, Noel Carter, Hudson Carter, Connor Russell, Stella Russell, Josephine Bronson; sister, Shirley Frus; nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of extended family and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts. 

He is now reunited with his daughter, Diane Kay Bronson, granddaughter, Anna Noel Bronson; son in law, Leroy “Buddy” Bronson; parents, Harold and Marguerite Campbell; siblings, Sharon Walter and Jack Campbell, who preceded him in death. Their spirits surely welcomed him with open arms, as he embarks on this new journey. 

A visitation in honor of Loren will be held on September 14, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Carson-Speaks Chapel, located at 1501 W Lexington Ave, Independence, Missouri. Following this, a memorial service will celebrate his life and enduring spirit, starting at 10:00 AM. A Graveside Inurnment will take place at at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Missouri, Monday September 16, 2024 at 12:00 PM. The family invites those who knew Loren to gather together, share stories, and reflect on the love and laughter he brought into their lives. 

As they navigate this profound loss, Loren's family finds solace in the memories they've created together and the legacy of love he has left behind. While he may no longer walk among them, his spirit will forever guide and inspire those who loved him dearly.
