Loretta Irene Schroepfer

July 7, 1943 — March 20, 2024

Blue Springs

Loretta Irene Schroepfer, a beloved individual whose life touched many, passed away March 20, 2024, at the Kansas City Hospice House. Born on July 7, 1943, in Kansas City, Missouri, to William Cyrus Schroepfer, Sr. and Cecilia Anastasia (Czinczoll) Schroepfer, Loretta's life was one dedicated to fulfilling careers in education and technology.

After earning her bachelor's of arts in education from Mundelein College in the 1980's, Loretta started her career as a kindergarten teacher. Later, she advanced her education to work as a computer programmer before retiring in the early 2000's. Loretta's career was a testament to her passion for teaching and learning. Loretta's kind and supportive nature extended far beyond the classroom. She was described as someone who always aimed to help others and organizations silently in the background—making a lasting impact on those around her with her selfless acts of kindness.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Loretta was known for her love of traveling. She cherished moments exploring New Orleans and attending the Kentucky Derby with her family and close friend, Shirley. In her leisure time, Loretta found joy in sports, particularly horse racing, and was a loyal season ticket holder for many seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals. She was also fond of theater, and had a season pass to the Starlight Theater in Kansas City, endeavoring to attend as many events as she could.

In this time of mourning, Loretta is survived by her loving sister, Judy Schroepfer; cherished friend, Shirley Meineka; and many nieces and nephews. She is reunited in eternal rest with her father, William Schroepfer, Sr.; mother, Cecilia Schroepfer; brothers, William Schroepfer, Jr. and John Schroepfer; and sisters, Mary Schroepfer, Rosanne Schroepfer, and Dorothy Morales.
