Jim Love, 51, of Independence, MO passed away Saturday, February 23, 2019 from complications after a motorcycle accident. A visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Speaks Suburban Chapel 18020 E. 39th St, Independence, MO, 64055. A Celebration of Life will take place at 2pm on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at the chapel.
Jim was born on June 1, 1967 in Fairfax County, VA to Cecil and Shirley (Feltinberger) Love. After high school he enlisted in the United States Army. He returned to the Midwest and met the love of his life, Rachelle Wise. They married on August 25, 1990 then raised three strong, independent girls and a son. He enjoyed watching classic Christmas movies, wrestling and football. He loved helping others, especially when he could do it anonymously. Most of all, he loved riding his motorcycle. Jim was a member of the Kruzer’s Optimist of Jackson County.
Jim will be remembered by his wife of over 28 years, Rachelle Love, of Independence, MO; daughters Ashlie Love of Independence, MO, Amanda Love of Independence, MO, and Alicia Love of Kansas City, MO; sister Sherry Yanda and husband Bill; brother Gary Love and wife Polla; sisters Anita McKinley, Teresa Stoner and husband Jerry; grandchildren Carsen Love, Leilani Love, and Nixon Love, plus several nieces, nephews, cousins, other extended family, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his sister Vickie Wright, his father, sister Donna Addison, his mother, and his son James Love, Jr.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Kruzer’s Optimist of Jackson County or Speak Up Suicide Foundation.
