Savilla L. Lundquist, 88, of Independence, MO passed away September 15, 2012 at Rosewood Health Center. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 20, at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, Missouri. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at the chapel. Burial to follow at Mound Grove Cemetery. Savilla was born on August 27, 1924 in Adrian, Missouri to Robert and Ruth (Askew) McClarnon. During the 1940-1950’s, she worked as a beautician at SuDora Beauty Salon on the Independence Square. After she and her husband Duane had children, she spent her time as a homemaker and mother. She thoroughly enjoyed participating and following all of her two son’s activities. She also enjoyed traveling, fishing and followed American Legion Baseball. Savilla was also active in CWF (Christian Women’s Fellowship), at First Christian Church of Independence, and in the Ladies’ Auxiliary, VFW Post 1000. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Duane “Red” R. Lundquist. Savilla is survived by her two sons, Alan Lundquist and wife Susan, Greg Lundquist and wife Cindy; four grandchildren, Bradley Lundquist, Kara Lundquist, Brett Lundquist and Olivia Lundquist; one stepsister, Betty Jo Powell of Clinton, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
