Clara M. Lynch, 95, of Independence, MO, passed away, Sunday, March 23, 2014 at the Rosewood Health Center. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 27, 2014 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Avenue, Independence, MO 64052. Burial will follow in Mound Grove Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at the chapel. Donations may be made to First Christian Church 125 S. Pleasant St. Independence, MO 64050. Clara was born February 15, 1919 in Stilwell, OK to Jesse C. and Lila (Rogers) Pinkerton. She graduated from public schools and taught school for a while. She later moved to Independence, MO and her and her husband opened the Englewood Café in 1951, and is still in operation. She was a longtime and very active member and volunteer of the First Christian Church in Independence. She was preceded in death by her 1st husband John Stapleton and her second husband Virgil G. Lynch. She is survived by 3 nieces, 5 nephews and great nieces, nephews and close friends that include Beverly Boynton, Pam Kibler, John Russell and Bree Sontheimer.
