Mary K. Lyndell, 81, of Kansas City, MO lost her long-fought battle with multiple health problems on February 18, 2015. A visitation will be held from 1-2:00 p.m. followed by a 2:00 p.m. memorial service on Saturday, February 21, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. Contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice, or you may plant a tree in Mary’s name. Mary was born January 12, 1934 in Independence, MO to John and Myrtle Gunzel. She was one of 6 children, 3 of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by two children, Steve Keyton of Peculiar, MO and Kathy Swanson of Dallas, TX; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one sister, Elizabeth Wykoff; and one brother, Les Gunzel. Her never wavering quest for knowledge led her to earn two Master’s Degrees and finally a Doctorate in Psychology, which she utilized as a Clinical Psychologist to help many people throughout her distinguished career.
