Fred was born on June 25, 1925, in Kansas City, MO, to Fred W. and Martha (Legg) Lyons. He attended William Chrisman High School, and graduated from Windyville High School in the class of 1943. He married Fern Marsh on May 4, 1945, and served in the U.S. Army as a supply sergeant during the Japanese occupation. After honorable discharge, he joined his father and brother in business by creating Lyons Diecasting in Buckner, MO. He was a member of the JC’s Club, the Lion’s Club, and the Masons. Fred retired at the age of 47, which allowed him to have plenty of time to perfect his golf swing. He also enjoyed traveling around the United States with Fern in their RV. In their later years, they resided in Leisure World of Mesa, Arizona.
Fred is survived by his three daughters: Judy Nagel (husband, Richard), of Heathrow, FL, Linda Bowen, of Independence, MO, and Louise Lyons (partner, Jean Rogers), of Prairie Village, KS; 5 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 59 years, Fern; and brother, Bill.
