Jane Welter, 96, entered into eternal rest April 11, 2024, at Centerpoint Medical Center. She had resided at the Baptist Home of Independence.
Jane was born to Paul and Virgie Eager on September 22, 1927 on a farm in rural Cooper County, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, five infant brothers, 2 elder brothers, Milton Eager and Glenn Eager, and a sister Virginia Moore.
She attended grade school in Wooldridge, MO She was saved and baptized at Woolridge Baptist Church. The family later moved to Kansas City, where she graduated from Northeast High School in 1945. She met and married Charles (Chuck) Welter in 1947. They were blessed to have almost 50 years together before his death in 1996. They spent those years in Independence, Raytown, and Blue Springs.
Before her retirement, Jane worked for the accounting firm, Baird, Kurtz, and Dobson in downtown Kansas City as a secretary to the managing partner for 33 years. She and Chuck attended First Baptist Church of Raytown, where they were members since 1964. She was a member of the Adult Bible Study class, where she enjoyed the friendship of many believers.
She was always generous to family and friends, often sharing her gifts of wonderful cooking and hospitality. She also enjoyed golf, travel, reading, shopping, classic movies and collecting keepsakes, especially angels.
Jane is survived by her beloved sister, Joan Danforth, nieces Linda Speer and Debbie Gardner; nephews Gary, Terry and Glenn Allen Eager; and nieces-in-law, Jeanette and Teresa. She will be lovingly missed by many.
