Dr. Mark Finley Maddox, 57, Kansas City, MO passed away June 6, 2014. A Celebration Mark’s Life will begin at 11:00 am, Thursday, June 12 at Broadway Baptist Church, 3931 Washington St., K.C., MO 64111; cremation. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am before the service at church. The family requests contributions to The Parkinson’s Foundation Heartland Chapter, 8900 State Line Rd #320, Leawood, KS 66206 or Broadway Baptist Church. Mark was born July 27, 1956 in Oklahoma City, OK. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Southeast Missouri State University with a B.S. in Pre-dental, then graduated from the UMKC School of Dentistry. He owned his own practice in the Kansas City area for thirty years before retiring in 2012. Upon retirement he enjoyed his hobby of making jewelry. He was a member of Broadway Baptist Church. Mark was preceded in death by sister Janette Maddox. He is survived by his parents R. Finley and Hannah Maddox; brother Kent Maddox; niece Alysse Maddox, all of Cape Girardeau, MO; and niece Miranda Maddox, New York City, NY. Mark was a wonderfully talented and generous dentist who frequently gave his service to the less fortunate. He was a sweet soul who will be missed by his family and friends.
