Arsenio Peter "Pete" Madrid Jr.

Pete Madrid, 83, of Independence, MO passed away April 1, 2017 with his loving family by his side. Visitation will begin at 10:30 am, Thursday, April 6, 2017 at St, Mary’s Catholic Church. Rosary will be prayed at 11:40 am and Mass of Christian Burial will be 12 pm. Burial will take place in Mound Grove Cemetery. Pete was born into a large family on February 27, 1934 in Kansas City, MO to Joseph and Pricilla (Armijo) Madrid. He graduated from De La Salle High School in 1951. He was a member of Sheet Metal Local #2 for over 60 years, retiring after 45 years of service. Survivors include: sons Joe Madrid and wife Sue; Louis Madrid and wife Christine; grandchildren Paul Madrid and wife Danielle, Dominic Madrid, Michelle and husband Caleb Freeman, Tony Madrid and wife Lisa, Danny Madrid and wife Cathy; and Shannon Nicodemus; great grandchildren Sam Madrid and Nora Madrid; seven step-grandchildren, eight sisters, and a large extended family. Pete is preceded in death by his parents, loving wife of over 47 years, Elena Madrid, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Memorial may be made to St. Mary’s Church in Pete’s memory.
