Ida Belle (Herrin) Malewski died April 15, 2021 in Hico, TX at the age of 98.
She is predeceased by her parents Smiley C„ Sr. (Mabel Lewis) Herrin; 2 siblings and their spouses: sister Philetha (Jim Rice) and brother Smiley C., Jr. (Evelyn Thurston) Herrin; and Ida Belle's husband of 52 years, Frank W. Malewski.
She is survived by 3 children and their spouses: Charles (Jennifer) Malewski, Edward (Connie) Malewski, and Mary Lea (Stan Wright); 9 grandchildren: David (Kellie) Malewski, John Malewski, Jenelle (Wayne Henry), Nick (Timberlyn) Malewski, Erin (Adrian Goettemoeller), Father Christian Malewski, Ben Malewski, Shannon (Zack Carleton), and Christopher (Kimberly) Wright; 18 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins.
For 19 years Ida Belle taught typing, general business, and English at Northeast Jr. HS in Kansas City, MO. For 13 years she and Frank did genealogy research and compilation, living in Independence, MO. For 28 years she lived with Mary Lea and Stan Wright in Irving, TX, Rocky Mount, MO, El Paso, TX, and Hico, IX.
Ida Belle (Mama) (Aunt Ida Belle) (Grandma) will be missed by her family, her friends, and her former students.
Interment will be Friday, July 9 at 11am next to Frank at Mt Washington Cemetery in Independence, MO.
