Forest E. Maley, 87, of Higginsville, MO, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2005 at the Lafayette Regional Health Center. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 31, 2005 at the Carson-Speaks chapel. Burial will be in Mound Grove Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 7 to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, October 30, 2005 at the chapel. Forest was born August 21, 1918 in Perry, IA to Levi W. and Frances Loretta (Tullis) Maley. He grew up in Iowa and graduated from Lamoni High School. He worked as a mechanical engineer for over 50 years locally for Butler Manufacturing, Bendix and Kenworth, for two engineering firms in Cedar Falls, IA and for FMC-Liton in Minneapolis where he retired in 1989. He enjoyed photography and music and sang in the choir. He was a member and elder of the Church of Christ Temple Lot. He was married to Irene Yates, his wife of 52 years who preceded him in death in 1999. Survivors include; his children, David Maley of Kansas City, Mo, Rebecca Maley of Grand Junction, CO, Bonnie Case of Higginsville, Julie Tansey of Waterloo, IA and Mark Maley of Independence, MO; a sister, Katherine Moyer of Independence, MO; a brother, Robert Maley of Lafayette, LA; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
