Retha Delee Mallott (Rowe)

Retha Delee (Lynn) Mallott, 92, of Independence, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at the John Knox Village Hospice Care Center, Lee’s Summit, MO. Retha was born March 3, 1926 in Kansas City, MO. She attended William Chrisman High School and resided in Independence for the majority of her life. Mrs. Mallott was a homemaker and worked various jobs to include being a telephone operator in Kansas City, MO. She was an avid horseback rider and loved to play cards. Retha was the only child of the late Henry and Elsie Rowe. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Glenn L. Mallott, daughter, Nancy Goodridge, son, George E. Lynn, Jr. and granddaughter, Laura Lynn. Her survivors include Larry and Penny Lynn (son and daughter-in-law), Michael and Lynda Mallott (son and daughter-in-law), Joan Lynn (daughter-in-law), and Glenn and Glinda Mallott (son and daughter-in-law). Retha loved her entire family and cherished the visits and family get togethers to include the 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held Monday, June 25th from 9-10:00am with a funeral service following at 10:00am, both at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. Burial will follow at Mount Washington Cemetery, Kansas City, MO.
