Jerry Malott

Jerry Malott, 73, of Independence, MO passed away January 9, 2013. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 14, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. Graveside service at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. Jerry was born April 18, 1939 in Kansas City, KS to James and Kathleen Malott. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. In 1992, Jerry retired from Western Electric (Lucent), where he had worked as a machine operator. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Geraldine Malott. He is survived by his daughter, Paula A. McGhee and husband Jeff; son, Scott A. Malott; two grandsons, Jeremy and Dylan McGhee; one brother, Walter Malott and wife Marie; and sister, Kathleen Sue Forck and husband Gary. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
