Edgar Lee Mansfield, 74, Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2011.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St. Independence, MO. Burial to follow at Floral Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 am Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Dream Factory.
Edgar was born September 19, 1936 in De Witt, MO the son of Nova Edgar and Alta Irene (Lightfoot) Mansfield. He was employed with Yellow Freight for over 30 years. Edgar was a member of the Teamsters Union #41 and the Two Cylinder Club. He enjoyed collecting John Deer Tractors and spending time with his grandchildren.
Edgar was preceded in death by his first wife Patricia Mansfield of 50 years in 2007; grandson, Lane Mansfield and his parents.
He is survived by his second wife Nell Mansfield; sons Rob Mansfield and his wife Susan; Craig Mansfield and his wife Wendy; and Steve Mansfield; nine grandchildren; five grandchildren; sisters, Freda Trussell, Joyce Citron, Judy White, and Jane Mansfield; and brother Darrell Mansfield.
