Margaret Lutz

July 18, 1939 — January 29, 2024

Blue Springs

Margaret (Peggy) Roseann Lutz, 84, from Blue Springs, MO passed peacefully at her daughter Patty and Bill’s home in Excelsior Springs, MO, where she lived and was lovingly cared for, over many years. She was surrounded by her kids and several of her grandchildren at the time of her passing on January 29, 2024. She was born on July 18, 1939, in Kansas City, MO to Alvin and Elsie (Ecklund) Applequist. Margaret married the love of her life Marvin Dale (Buddy) Lutz, together they had seven wonderful children. She was a kindhearted person who would take in and care for anyone and everyone she could. Margaret was a mother to many more than just her own children, everyone loved being loved by her. She was an amazing cook and always made four course dinners every single night, Sunday being the grand finale of the week with the entire family joining in on a roast dinner. Margaret was a professional PB&J maker and would happily make you some to eat with a glass of Kool-Aid.  She had quite the mother’s intuition and nothing ever got past her, she knew what you were up to always. Margaret didn’t have a judging bone in her body and everyone always shared stories of how sweet she was. She loved nothing more in life than her family and they will miss her so deeply.
Margaret is survived by her seven children: Janet O’Donohue (Ken), Cindy Burke (Tim), Patty Benson (Bill), Tracy Wymore, Madeline Trocosso (David), Merry Lutz, and Marvin Dale Lutz, Jr(Annette), grandchildren; Mike, Jeff, Sarah, Serena, Timmy, Shawn, Robert, Maddie, Andy, Hannah, Jacob, Jonathan, Daniel, Brooke, Bailey, Brittany, Shelby, and Madison, twenty four great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, brother Charlie (Peggy), as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.  She is preceded in death by her husband Marvin Lutz Sr and her parents Alvin and Elsie Applequist, siblings-Carol, Bobby and Jerry.
A visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. for Margaret on Saturday February 10, 2024, at Speaks Suburban Chapel (18020 E 39th St S. Independence, MO 64055).
