Margaret "Maggie" Elaine Weir

Maggie (Margaret) Weir, 31 of Independence, MO passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at home. Maggie passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends. Services will be held on Monday, February 10, 2025, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. The family will greet friends from 12:30 until the 1:30 service time.  Donations may be made in her name to Ascend Hospice, the American Cancer Society or the Melanoma Research Alliance.

Maggie was born on December 1, 1993. She was the beloved daughter of Chris and Melinda (Brice) Weir and a loving mother to her daughter Christina Marie Gann. She graduated from Truman High School in 2012, attended Missouri State University before transferring to the University of Central Missouri, and graduated in 2016 with a degree in Elementary Education. She has worked at Kohl’s since 2013 and most recently was assistant manager at the Liberty, MO location. She enjoyed traveling with her daughter and her friends. She will be remembered for her sweet smile and positive personality along with her annual mother-daughter trips to the Mall of America, Branson trips with her friends, and numerous trips to Disney World for her daughter’s dance show troupe.

Survivors include: parents Melinda and Chris Weir; daughter Christina Gann, cousins Sharon(Steve) Smith; Doug (Debbie) Perry; Marsha(Doug) Mezger; Stephanie (Mitch) Huffman; Rob Smith; Aimee (Aaron) Ramsey; Beth (John) Hesson; Bryan (Jessica) Perry and Vince Brice.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents Jack and Yvonne (Perry) Brice and Doris Weir. The family wishes to thank the staff and caregivers of Ascend Hospice and her special friends from her Kohl’s family and Cathy’s Creative Dance School mom squad for their loving care and support.
