Marianne Schrik, a beloved free spirit and compassionate soul, left this world on August 29, 2024, in Blue Springs, Missouri, at the age of 70. Born on May 11, 1954, in Independence, Missouri, Marianne was a beacon of love and kindness to all who knew her.
Marianne graduated from Van Horn High School with aspirations that led her to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish literature from the UMKC. Throughout her career, she dedicated her talents as a purchasing agent for the General Services Administration, where her keen eye for details left a lasting positive impression on her colleagues and clients alike.
A lover of the outdoors, Marianne found joy in nature’s beauty and cherished traveling to new destinations, and retired to Eureka Springs, AR, one of her favorite places. Her lively spirit infused every adventure with laughter and warmth. She was particularly fond of animals and loved her dog Molly and two cats, Charlotte and Davey Crocket. She also had a special place in her heart for children, and was known to sponsor those in need, showcasing her dedication to uplifting others and spreading joy wherever she went.
Her qualities extended beyond the help she gave to others; she was a treasured sister, aunt, and friend. Survived by her dear friends, Joan Roark and Margaret Baldomino; siblings, Suzanne, Dianne, Lisa, Tom (Jane), David; nieces, nephews, and extended family. Marianne's legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched with her heart and supportive spirit.
Preceded in death by her loving parents, Albert and Betty Schrik, and her siblings, Denny, Jan and Al. Marianne’s kindness and free spirit will be sorely missed. As we remember Marianne, we celebrate the love she shared, the adventures she embarked upon, and the compassion she showed to all. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the honor to know her.
Cremation is planned with a funeral and Celebration of Life to take place at Trinity Episcopal Church, 409 N Liberty Street, Independence MO on Thursday October 10, 2024, at 3:00 p.m.
