Marianna Marker (Johnston)

Marianna (Johnston) Marker, 93, Independence, MO passed away July, 22, 2017. A memorial service will be held at 11 am, Sat., July 29, at Liberty Church of the Nazarene, 1400 Southview Drive, Liberty, MO 64068; cremation. Marianna was born Nov. 4, 1923 in Cheyenne, WY to Forrest and Metta Faye (Dawson) Johnston. She served in the U.S. Navy as a Wave during WW II from May 1944 until July 1946. Following her discharge from the service, she attended Drake University. On April 10, 1948 she married Donald Lewis Marker who became her husband of sixty-nine years. She worked for Preferred Risk Insurance Company for over twenty-five years. Marianna is survived by husband Don; daughters Marguerite Dasalee Marker, JoAnn (Marker) Graybill and husband Ellis; Mary Lou (Marker) Bewsey and husband Steve; grandsons Nathan, Brian and Joel Graybill
