Monte C. Marker, 63, of Independence, MO, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2006 at Independence Regional Health Center. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 11, 2005 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel. Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at the chapel. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association. Monte was born October 10, 1942 in Wichita, Kansas to Franklin Clayton and Marilyn Frances (Priest) Marker. He had worked for Honeywell Incorporated for over 29 years as a welder before her retired. He was a member of the Machinists Union local # 778 in Kansas City. He was married to Linda (Shrewsbury) on July 9, 1966, she survives of the home. Other survivors include; a son, John Marker of Independence, MO; a daughter, Kalyn Flanigan of Lexington, Mo; a sister, Gloria Jane Barton of Independence, MO and 4 grandchildren, Lilly Jane Marker of Independence, MO, Patrick James Flanigan, Nicholas Clayton Flanigan and Madison Claire Flanigan all of Lexington, MO.
