Arlyne (Franchett) Marks, 95, a 61 year resident of Independence, Mo., passed away on March 9, 2018 at the New Mark Care Center. She was born on June 6, 1922 to Arthur and Pauline (Sauer) Franchett. She attended school in Kansas City, Kansas, graduating from Wyandotte High School in 1940.
Arlyne worked for Hallmark Cards, Firestone, Reynolds Book Bindery and retired from Auto Employee’s Credit Union as well as being a stay at home mom for her three children.
Arlyne was baptized, confirmed and married at Grace Lutheran Church, Kansas City, Kansas. She currently was a 60 year member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Liberty, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 48 years, George R. Marks and infant son George R. Marks, Jr.
She is survived by her three children: Debbie (Don) Taylor, Liberty, Mo.; Richard (Michelle) Marks, Pine Mountain, Ga.; and Kathy Wildschuetz, Blue Springs, Mo. Four grandchildren: Brent (Leigh Anne) Taylor, Scott (Dara) Taylor, Hilary (John) Trammell and Brian Wildschuetz. Nine great grandchildren: Hunter, Allie, Lauren, Hayden, Leighton, Macy and Ava Taylor, Jaylene and Livie Trammell. Sisters: Virginia Arnold and Loretta Nitschke. Brother: Leonard Franchett.
The visitation will be at Speaks Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, Mo. on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 205 Forest, Liberty, Mo. on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Private family burial at Greenlawn Cemetary.
The family requests no flowers but donation can be sent to St. Stephen Lutheran Church and Alzheimer’s Association.
