Mark John Marlborough

September 29, 1958 — October 23, 2021

Mark John Marlborough, affectionately known to his family and friends as "Duke", passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 23rd, 2021, in his home surrounded by his loving wife Kelly and their two children, Baylee and Brock. Mark is survived by his wife Kelly, daughter Baylee and son and daughter in law Brock and Kate Marlborough and granddaughter Ruby Jean Marlborough. Along with his older brother Mike, his wife Savanna, and his children. As well as his younger brother Matt Marlborough, his wife Karen, and their children.

Mark was born to Jack and Judy Marlborough on September 29, 1958, and spent his entire childhood happily living in Raytown, Missouri with his brothers and doting grandparents Basil and Dorothy Hall. Mark's childhood was a happy time playing all manner of sports with his friends and neighbors on Raytown Little League Football, Baseball and Basketball teams coached by his father Jack, and grandfather, Basil Hall. Mark is remembered by his childhood friends as a gifted athlete who excelled at every sport he played and as an incredible coach of countless children throughout his life. He had the pleasure of also coaching Brock and Baylee and watching them both compete at the high school level at Blue Springs South High School.

Mark was a 1976 graduate of Raytown South High School where he excelled in basketball, football and ran track. Upon graduation from RSHS in 1976, Mark attended Central Missouri State University where he was a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity where he made many lifelong friends. Mark continued to volunteer as a youth sports coach all through his 20's and leaves behind dozens of families who will remember the skills and values he instilled in their children on the football and baseball fields and basketball courts.

Following college, Mark started, owned and operated a highly successful Manufacturers
Representative business known as Marlborough and Associates. During these year's, Mark spent countless happy hours golfing with his friends Coz, Duke Sr, Muff, Matt and
Geno, along with playing cards with friends. Mark also loved fishing with his buddy David Cosentino. Through it all, he was blessed with the amazing support of his best friend of 51 years, Gene Graham, who spent every day of Marks cancer battle extending a loving hand.

When Mark wasn't entertaining his friends, he loved spending time with the love of his life Kelly. Mark and Kelly were married in Las Vegas, Nevada, 33 years ago on May 9th 1988. Mark and Kelly also enjoyed traveling, dinners with friends, dancing and most recently, visiting and Facetiming with their beloved granddaughter Ruby Jean.

Mark will be missed by Kelly, Brock and Baylee and his extended family and friends. Mark knew no strangers and possessed a keen mind and wonderful sense of humor. No one could crack a joke, or make fun of themselves quite like Mark could. He loved his wife, children, brothers, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and dogs Stormi and Arlo. Mark has passed into the presence of his Lord and has been reunited with Mom, Dad, Basil, Dorothy, friends and relatives in eternal glory. We are all better for having known him and will never forget his kindness, sense of humor and laughter.
