Diana Lee Marr, 68, of Independence, MO passed away Monday, April 11, 2016. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 Thursday, April 14th at Speaks Suburban Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Friday, April 15th at the chapel. Burial will be at Mound Grove Cemetery. Diana was born Jun 29, 1947 in Independence, MO as one of two children to Alice Vivian (Brady) and Clark Edward Smith, Sr. She attended Truman High School and graduated from Friends University with Honors. She was a dutiful and loving mother who enjoyed participating in her children’s extra curricular activities. Diana married her beloved David Eric Marr on August 7th, 1993. Together they enjoyed traveling the world. There will always be a special place in Maui for them. They are long time members of Noland Road Baptist Church. She worked for numerous positions for the City of Independence and retired from the Tourism Department. She was also a board member for the Vaile Mansion, Young Matron Participant, and Youth Friends Mentor. Her family remembers her kind and loving spirit.
Survivors include husband David, of the home; daughter Alice “Michele” Spillman of Kansas City, MO; son, Christopher William Hoover of Blue Springs, MO; son, Jason Matthew Hoover of Independence, MO; brother, Clark Edward Smith II and wife Suzanne of Blue Springs, MO; grandchildren Noelle Allison, Christian Lee, and Trinity Faith Hoover; and one great grandchild expected soon.
