Phyllis Ann Marrs (Horton)

Phyllis Marrs 78, of KCMO passed away on February 17, 2019. Visitation will be from 1-3 pm Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 3 pm. Burial will take place in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Phyllis was born on July 29, 1940 in Chula, MO to Berlie and Ruth Horton. Phyllis loved her family above all else. She relished the time that they spent together and watching the family grow. Her love of children even extended to her professional life, owing and operating a day care for many years in the area. Phyllis was a devoted member of Country Meadows Baptist Church and dearly loved her church family. Survivors include: son Randy Marrs and his wife Janet, son Rodney Marrs and his wife Violet; grandchildren Monica Confer, Ryan Marrs, Sabrina Howard, Colten Marrs, Jennifer Leibold, Jessica Gonzales and Jon Schroder; 13 great grandchildren; sisters Nancy Spencer and Sue Albrecht; a large extended family and many friends. Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, husband Everett Marrs, son Ricky Marrs, and grandson Ricky Marrs. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
