James R. Marshman, 66 of Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at his residence. Cremation is planned with a memorial service to be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 28, 2022, at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. Inurnment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. James was born on March 18, 1955, in Independence, MO to William and Betty Marshman. Jim played football in high school and graduated from Van Horn in 1974. He next attended the Electronic Institute where he was trained in electronic technology. Upon graduating he worked for Midland International in communications electronics. In addition, for a few years he also worked for General Electric, RCA, and Best Buy as an Electronic Repair Technician. Jim’s final position was with Sellick as an Avionics Technician working with airport landing systems, he retired in 2014. Jim enjoyed darts and riding his dirt bike when he was younger until he was injured. In later years he liked fishing and the outdoors, he purchased a track of land in southern Missouri with a buddy. Jim also loved movies and computer gaming as a hobby. Jim was knowledgeable about anything technical. He was kind, honest, and generous to all his friends and family. Jim age 66, passed on February 2, 2022, at his home in Independence, Missouri. Jim is survived by his sister and brother-in-law Connie and Steve Meadows, as well as cousins and friends.
