Martha Jane Goodson

Martha Jane Goodson, 90, of Lee's Summit, Missouri, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2023. She was born on May 1, 1933, in Bogard, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her father, James Ward, her mother, Mildred Trussell-Ward and sister, Rita Mae Ganser.

Martha gave years of service, working for Bank of America, until she retired in the early 1990’s. She found great enjoyment in RV traveling alongside husband Rex and friends, as well as meeting new friends along the way. In approximately 2005, She and Rex decided to retire from traveling the roads in exchange for seeing the world and relaxing on ocean cruises.

Martha was quite the dancer, as she and Rex tore up the floor while Square/Round dancing for several years. And by the way, she still had some moves right up to her last days.

Martha leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She is survived by her beloved husband, Rex; her daughter Debra Hanss (Raymond), son, Craig Goodson (Lisa); brother, Rex Trussell Ward; niece, Brenda McGovern (Mike), nephew, Chris Ganser (Diane); three grandchildren, Dani, Kaitlyn and Ryan, and one great-grandson, Trevor.

A celebration of life will be held on a later date.
