Barbara Lynne Martin

Barbara Lynne Martin, 62, of Blue Springs, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2019. A visitation will be held Tues. Jan. 29th from 6-8pm with funeral service on Wed. Jan 30th at 2:00pm, both at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St.; Independence, MO 64055. Interment will follow at Blue Springs Cemetery. “Barb” was born December 3, 1956, in Kansas City, KS to Abner and Ruth (Williams) Jennings. She worked in food services for 22 years for the Blue Springs School District and loved being the “lunch lady”. She was an animal lover and enjoyed time at the lake, but her greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her beloved husband of 40 years, J.D.; her daughter, Rikki (Kevin) Carpenter of Lone Jack; grandsons, Tyler, Ethan, Wyatt, and Brody; siblings Eugene Jennings of Liberty, MO, Brian (Debbie) Jennings of Liberty, MO, Larry (Linda) Jennings of Oklahoma, Linda (Larry) Crouch of Paola, KS, Linda Yates of Paola, KS, Sheryl and Steve Arnold, Karen and Wes Booker, Jim and Diane DeLong, Karen and Terry Corum, Theresa and Paul Odneal, Wayne DeLong, Tom and DaNae DeLong; nieces and nephews; Brian, Jennifer, Alyssa, Kimberly, Ben, Brad and Ryanne. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Terrill Jennings.
