John E. Iii Martin

John E. Martin III, 71, of Independence, MO, passed away, Friday, August 19, 2005 at his residence. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Neola, MO. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Neola. MO. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m., until service time Wednesday at the church. The family will also greet friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday evening at the Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, MO. John was born June 5, 1934 in Neola, MO to John E. and Thelma (Fleeman) Martin II. He had worked as a carpenter for the Carpenter�s Union local #61 and had worked for Tower Properties and Plaza Construction before he retired in 1993. He was a veteran of the Korean conflict having served in the U.S. Army. He is survived by a son, John E. Martin IV and his wife Misty of Grain Valley, MO; a sister, Mae Marie Brown of Santa Anna, CA; a uncle Charles Trader Martin Dell City, OK; 4 grandchildren, Tabbitha, Bryson, Kennedee and Jansynn Martin all of Grain Valley, MO and his dog Homer of the home.
