Ora Martin

Ora Lee Martin, 85, Independence, MO, passed away unexpectedly July 1, 2012. Services will be 10 am, Thursday, July 5, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church of Independence, 400 W. Maple, Independence MO 64050. Visitation will begin at 9 am before the service at church. Committal services will follow at 2 pm at the Garden City Cemetery, Garden City, MO. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to the church.
Ora Lee was born July 26, 1926 in Post Oak, MO and graduated from Norris High School. She was a mother and homemaker who enjoyed sewing, traveling throughout the U.S. in their RV and gardening. She has been a member of the church for fifty-six years.
Ora Lee was preceded in death by brother Billy Gene Wilson. She is survived by her husband of sixty-five years Ray G. Martin, of the home; son Michael Martin and wife Jo Lynn, Liberty, MO; daughter Linda Briggs, Mesa, AZ; brother Hugh Wilson, Lincoln, MO; sister Wanda White, Higginsville, MO; grandchildren Matthew Player, Liberty, MO; Katie Briggs, Sun City, AZ; Molly Taylor and husband Jake, Columbia, MO; great-grandchildren Zachary & Jacob Player, Liberty, MO; Ben, Kate & Gigi Taylor, Columbia, MO.
