Terry Martin

Terry Martin, 69, of Independence, MO passed away October 11, 2017 Funeral services will be 10 am Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Burial will take place in Mound Grove Cemetery. Terry affectionately known as “Grandma Gert” was born on October 26, 1947 in Independence, MO to John and Bertha (White) Gillispie. Together with her loving husband of over 41 years, they owned and operated Martin’s Auto Salvage for many years. Auto racing was a family affair, now working on the 3rd generation, which Terry loved. To “Grandma Gert” family was everything, and she enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family whenever possible. She loved to sing with her sisters and crochet in her spare time. Survivors include; her loving husband Larry Martin; son James Dunnam; son Billy Dunnam; son Scotty Martin; daughter Teresa Martin; daughter Tiffany Martin; 13 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sisters Lacreta McMillin and Leaona Rendon; nieces and nephews and a large extended family. Terry is preceded in death by her parents.
