Mildred Martinovich (Viglasky)

Mildred Martinovich, 106 of Independence, MO passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018. Service will be 10:30 Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Independence, MO. Burial in Mound Grove Cemetery. Visitation for 9:00 until service time Thursday at Church. Donations may be made in her name to Messiah Lutheran Church, 613 S. Main St., Independence, MO 64050. Mildred was born August 14, 1911 in Hannibal, MO to John and Zuzanna (Miskovsky) Viglasky and has been a longtime Independence resident. She was a waitress at the Hawthorne Room at the Jones Store Co., for a number of years. She enjoyed cooking, baking and was a translator. She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church. Survivors include; 2 daughters, Mildred Polc of Sugar Creek, MO and Marilyn Gerdts of Oakland, TN; 8 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George S. Martinovich in 1982, a son, George S. Martinovich, Jr., an infant daughter, Wilma Lois Martinovich, 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
