Marvin Reeves, 81, passed away peacefully at home on January 18, 2025. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, Marvin dedicated his life to his family, work, and service to his community and country.
Marvin worked tirelessly at Stone Manufacturing for 43 years, building a legacy of hard work and commitment before retiring. A proud veteran, Marvin served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Hancock during the Vietnam War from 1959 to 1965. His dedication extended beyond his military service, as he was an active member of the McDonald Masonic Lodge #324, where he was a Past Master Mason. Marvin was also a former member of the Ararat Shrine and Mt. Washington Eastern Star, contributing to the betterment of his community through these organizations.
Marvin was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who cherished time spent with his loved ones. He is survived by his twin sister, Barbara Vanderpool of Independence, MO; two daughters, Sherry Perry of Independence, MO, and Veronica Barber of Decatur, IL; and two grandchildren, Tiffany Perry of Independence, MO, and Gregory McCaughey Jr. of Fredericksburg, VA.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Frances Reeves, his father, Theador Reeves, and his mother, Minerva Thompson.
Marvin will be remembered for his kindness, strength, and unwavering love for his family and friends. His life was a testament to service, dedication, and compassion.
