Mary Jane Fields, 72, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 29, 2023 at her home in Independence, Missouri.

Mary Jane was born on July 24, 1951 in Coffeyville, KS, to Joe Q. and Betty A. (Miller) Fields. She had a passion for education, grammar, and foreign language. She taught English and French for St Mary’s High School and Archbishop O’Hara High School before using her French translation and English grammar skills for Hallmark, Time Warner Cable and Cerner.

Mary Jane never married or had children, but never missed an opportunity to support her eight nieces and nephews, sixteen great-nieces and nephews and two great-great nieces and nephews. She cherished her family above all else.

She is survived by her five brothers, Greg, Hal (Iris), Joe (Carrie), Mike, and Chris. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Q. Fields (2001), Betty A. Fields (1992) and twin-sister, Marian Fields (2019).
