Mary's career spanned across various Administrative Assistant positions throughout the years. She was known for her exceptional typing skills, impressive organizational abilities, and professional demeanor. Her commitment to keeping everyone on task was unparalleled. Colleagues admired her efficiency and relied on her expertise. Mary's dedication to her work left a lasting impact on those she collaborated with.

 

Education played a significant role in Mary's life. She graduated from William Chrisman High School as part of the Class of 1943. Her commitment to learning remained strong throughout her lifetime, consistently seeking knowledge and growth.

 

Mary's personality was characterized by strength and unwavering faith in God. As a devout Christian, she found solace and guidance in her spiritual beliefs. Mary appreciated her independence and approached life with intelligence and kindness towards others. Her family held a special place in her heart, and she cherished the moments spent with loved ones.

 

Beyond her professional endeavors and spiritual pursuits, Mary found joy in several hobbies and interests. Swayze Sr. (father), Venora Teiberghien Swayze (mother), Paul Swayze (brother), Henry Swayze Jr. (brother), Candace Yeo (niece), Anthony Joseph Swayze (great nephew), and infant nieces.

 

Mary is survived by her devoted family and friends who will forever cherish her memory. Randy Swayze (nephew), Henry Swayze III (nephew), Justin Swayze (great nephew), Natasha Swayze (great niece), Angela Swayze (great niece), Aaron Swayze (great nephew), Andrew Swayze (great nephew), Ashlee Bernard and husband Matthew (great niece), Jesslyn Swayze (great niece), Mark Rostine (great nephew) and husband Dr. Ryan Rostine, Jessica Demint (great niece), Julie Nelson and husband Victor (great niece), Ronald Swayze (great nephew), Mark Buchannan (great nephew), Evan Buchannan (great nephew), numerous great-great nieces and nephews, numerous great-great-great nieces and nephews, David Bunten (stepson), and Janice Bunten (stepdaughter).

 

To honor Mary's memory and celebrate her remarkable life, visitation services will be held at Carson Speaks Chapel in Independence, Missouri on July 19, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The funeral service will also take place at Carson-Speaks Chapel on July 20, 2023, starting at 10:00 AM. Following the funeral, a graveside service will be held at Mound Grove Cemetery in Independence, Missouri at 12:00 PM.

 

Mary Elizabeth Swayze Bunten will forever be remembered for her strength of character, unwavering faith, and kindness towards others. Her presence in the lives of those who knew her was truly cherished. As we mourn her loss, let us also celebrate the legacy she leaves behind and the profound impact she had on our hearts.
