Virginia Mashburn, 90, of Independence, MO, passed away on Saturday June 25, 2022. A memorial visitation will be held from 1-2pm with a service following at 2pm on Thursday, June 30th; both at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W Lexington Ave.; Independence, MO 64052.
Virginia was born on November 6, 1931, in Independence, MO to Earl Cecil and Velma Frances (Hall) Baker. She graduated from Lee’s Summit High School and went on to do many things in her life that she enjoyed. She was an administrator for Truman Medical Center for many years and a volunteer for the Independence Police Department at the Englewood Station. She loved painting and photography, leading her to serve as a member of the KC Art Institute. Virginia also enjoyed being active, from playing basketball in high school and softball in adult leagues, to simply biking and walking outside. She was a long-time member of Trinity Nazarene in Independence. Virginia was very talented at whatever she put her hands to, but her passion was her family. She adored being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Virginia is survived by her children, Daniel Mashburn, Gregg (wife, Rebecca), and Vicki Redinger, all of Independence, MO; grandchildren, Joel (wife, Lucy) Mashburn, Natalie Mashburn, Steven (wife, Katie) Mashburn, and Laura Bellis; great-grandchildren, Jaydin, Logan, Dalton, and Ashton, as well as, her beloved feline companion, Mittens.
She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law, Randi Mashburn, son-in-law, Steve Redinger, and brother, Norman Baker.
