Bessie M. Mason

Bessie M. Mason, 95 of Independence, MO passed away, Thur. Feb. 5, 2004 at the Regency Care Center. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Mon. Feb. 9, 2004 at the Speaks Midtown Chapel, with the visitation being held one hour prior to the service. Burial in Floral Hills Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to the Crossroads Hospice, 8540 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64138. Mrs. Mason was born on Nov. 8, 1908 and has lived in the Independence area since 1944. She had worked in the William Chrisman High School cafeteria for several years. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother and a devoted homemaker and care giver all her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Independence, where she had been very active in the nursery, at First Baptist, Calvary Baptist Church and Susquehanna Baptist Church. Bessie was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Earl Mason. Two sons Bob G. Mason and his wife Roberta and Dennis L. Mason. She is survived by a son, Richard Mason and his wife, Betty J. of Independence, MO. A daughter in law, Sherry Mason of Independence, MO. Six grandchildren, Debbie, Victor, Vince, Renee, Roylee and Tina. and by several great grandchildren.
