Richard Mason

Richard Leroy Mason passed away on September 8, 2007 in Independence, MO. He was born in Mitchell, SD on May 15, 1936. Richard grew up in Gary, IN attending elementary and secondary schools there. He served in the United States Navy from 1955 to 1959.
Mr. Mason was employed for many years as a printer and was a member of the Typographical Union. He enjoyed painting and was a voracious reader.
Mr. Mason leaves a son and daughter-in-law, Calvin and Cheri Mason of San Diego. He leaves a daughter and son-in-law Beth and Shawn Buckman of Independence, MO; two granddaughters, Nicole and Shelby; several nieces and nephews; and four sisters: Marguerite Noll, IN; Phyllis Nielsen, NM; Beth Mason Mackey, WA; and Sharon Mason, NM.
A memorial service will be held for Richard at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 13, 2007 at the Evangelistic Center. An inurnment service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 14, 2007 at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO.
