Virginia L. Massey (formerly Wood, Peoples), a resident of Missouri, died unexpectedly on October 18, 2016 at the age of 72. Virginia was born on December 6, 1944 in Stover, Mo. Virginia is survived by her companion, Vernon Robinson; her children, Bob and Rhonda Peoples; her grandchildren, Jeremy Elias, Garry Brunner, Dusty Peoples, Bobby Peoples III (Tres), Breez Duffy; Curtis Brunner, Bella Peoples, Tammy Mae (great grandchildren). She is proceeded in death by her children, Chip Peoples and Tammy Duffy. Virginia retired from CalMar after working there for 20+ years. It is there where she met her companion Vernon. With the addition of Vernon to our family, Vernon and Virginia became model grandparents and were very active in both their children and grandchildren’s lives. She enjoyed waking up to her morning coffee, and always watching wrestling on Monday evenings. Virginia was a devoted mother and grandmother, she never missed a baseball or football game or any sporting event for her grandchildren, most often she was the one getting the grandkids to the games. There are not enough words to express how much of a loved mother, grandmother, Sister and Aunt she was to several; she was a matriarch of her family and will truly be missed.
A graveside memorial service is scheduled for 3pm on October 25, 2016 at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens, 18301 E Salisbury Rd, Independence, MO 64056. Please come to celebrate Virginia’s great life and share memories.
