Elizabeth R. Masten

Elizabeth R. Masten, 95, died Sunday, May 28, 2006, at Rosewood Health Care Center. Services will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 1, 2006, at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington, Independence, MO, 64052. Visitation will be 6-8:00 PM, Wednesday, at the Chapel. Mrs. Masten will be cremated following services. Born in 1910 in St. Clair, MI, to Herbert and Marietta Lively, Elizabeth married Jesse Masten and the couple moved to Independence where they made their home. She loved music, baking, and spending time with her family. Elizabeth and her husband were very active in church and were charter members of the Englewood congregation of the Community of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse, on December 16, 1995, and is survived by her two children, Robert J. Masten, and his wife Carmen, of Orange Park, FL, and Faye Cooper and her husband Chris, of Independence; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and many other loving relatives and friends.
