It is with deepest sorrow, we announce that Colin Matthew Masters, age 26 our most beloved son, brother, family member and friend passed suddenly on Saturday, October 16, 2021 in his home.
Those who knew Colin, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives.
Colin will be missed everyday by his little “Tinker Tut” and son Asher Brooks, his Father, Matthew, his beloved Mother, Stacy, loving brother Bryce, adoring sister Addison, the most important woman in his life Nicole Barnhart, his Papa Vince and wife Dana Garrett, his Papa and Nana Roger and Sara Masters, his Aunt Kim and fiancé John, additional Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and many, many great friends.
We know Colin is now with his “MeMa” Diana Garret, his “Pappy” Joe Clark, his “Nana G” Sharon Garret and his Grandpa Eddie Garrett.
Colin is forever loved here on earth as well as in heaven.
Colin had a very deep love for his family, and cherished the time spent together watching movies, listening to music (way too loud), having some beers and laughs (way too many), and enjoying family dinners together. He loved to fish and spend time with his most cherished furry friend Khaleesi. Only those that Colin really loved will ever really know him and who he was beneath all that bravado. He was always fiercely loyal to his friends and family and just downright brutally honest.
If you knew him well or barely knew him at all, Colin always left you thinking. Whether it was about how absolutely beautiful, infuriating, profound, ridiculously funny, or just down right inappropriate he was…he always left his mark on everyone he touched.
He will continue to stay with us all through the great memories, and the many laughs he forced us all to endure whether we were in the mood for it or not.
We LOVE and MISS you so very much my Son…
“Build Me a Son, O Lord
Build me a son, O Lord, who will be strong enough to know when he is weak, and brave enough to face himself when he is afraid; one who will be proud and unbending in honest defeat, and humble and gentle in victory.
Build me a son whose wishbone will not be where his backbone should be; a son who will know Thee and that to know himself is the foundation stone of knowledge. Lead him, I pray, not in the path of ease and comfort, but under the stress and spur of difficulties and challenge. Here let him learn to stand up in the storm; here let him learn compassion for those who fail.
Build me a son whose heart will be clean, whose goal will be high; a son who will master himself before he seeks to master other men; one who will learn to laugh, yet never forget how to weep; one who will reach into the future, yet never forget the past.
And after all these things are his, add, I pray, enough of a sense of humor, so that he may always be serious, yet never take himself too seriously. Give him humility, so that he may always remember the simplicity of greatness, the open mind of true wisdom, the meekness of true strength.
Then I, his father, will dare to whisper, “I have not lived in vain.” (General Douglas MacArthur)
