Tona Lee "Tony" Mathis

Tona Lee "Tony� Mathis, 44, of Independence, MO passed away Tuesday, October 25th. . Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 27th at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 29th in Devol Cemetery, Grandfield, OK. Tony was born June 24, 1961 in Tulsa, OK to Elza Eugene and Barbara Lynn (Watson) Mathis, Sr. Mr. Mathis was a kid at heart and had a jolly personality. He enjoyed visiting the family farm in Urbana, MO to help out on the barn or on building fences. Tony loved horses and having the opportunity to ride in the Urbana Saddle Club. He is survived by his sons Tona Andrew Mathis and wife, Joshua Lee Mathis and wife; 2 grandsons and 1 granddaughter on the way; mother Barbara Franks and husband Bill; father Gene Mathis and wife Dolly; special nephew Lloyd Eugene Mathis, sister-in-law Pam Mathis and niece Jewell Mathis; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends. Tony was preceded in death by his grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Virgil Watson, Mr. & Mrs. Gene Mathis, and his brother Gene Mathis.
