Vivian Matteson

Vivian Dorthea Matteson, 90, died Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at Rosewood Care Center in Independence, MO. She was born June 9, 1917 to Tom and Mamie Brazeal in Thayer, MO, the youngest of five children. She was preceded in death by her brothers: Sidney, Ray and John Brazeal. Vivian was married to Myrel Matteson of Abilene, KS. They celebrated fifty-two years of marriage before his death in 1997. She is survived by her sister, Azzie O’Shaughnessy of Raytown, MO; a niece, Elaine Franklin and husband Charlie of Independence, MO; nephew Michael O’Shaughnessy and wife Beth of Lee’s Summit, MO; three great nieces; four great nephews; six great-great nieces and ten great-great nephews. Memorial Services will be 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 6, 2007 in the Community Room at The Groves, 1515 W. White Oak Independence, MO. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Rosewood Care Center.
