Mary Sue Matthews, 80, of Hyde Park, MA, beloved mother, sister, grandmother and aunt, died on June 23, 2008. Mary Sue died peacefully, surrounded by her family, at Milton Hospital after natural causes. She was born on September 21, 1927 in Independence, MO to Glenn and Suzie Pendleton. Mary Sue grew up in Independence and loved to play baseball as a young girl. She graduated from Northeast high school and attended UMKC for 2 years. She had distinguished and enjoyable career with Hub City where she worked as a Import/Export Administrator. She never missed a day. Mary Sue cherished many long lasting friendships throughout her life, and was a faithful and devoted member of the Catholic Church. She loved the Kansas City Chiefs, was an avid reader, and in her later years, she enjoyed watching birds from her window. Mary Sue is survived by all of her children, Terry, Kevin, Dennis, Diana Perl, Patrice Gattozzi and Brian, and by her brother John Pendleton and his wife Alcidene, and her life long friend and sister-in-law Theresa. A visitation will be held at the Carson Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington, Independence on June 27, 2008 from 6-8:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held at St. Mark's Catholic Church, located at 3736 Lee's Summit Road in Independence on June 28, 2008 at 10.00 A.M. Mom, you will always be with us.
